The first Stadium to go Solar

Go Media Stadium has taken a bold step in sustainability, becoming the first stadium in Auckland to install solar panels at scale.

With over 1,700 panels across the East and West stands, the system now generates approximately 800 MWh of clean energy annually, enough to cover around 60% of the venue’s power needs. This initiative not only reduces carbon emissions by 36 tonnes each year but also sets a powerful precedent for the future of live sports and entertainment venues in Aotearoa.

Cuetone Media was trusted to document this landmark project for Auckland Stadiums. From the spectacular aerial delivery of solar panels by helicopter to the final installation, we captured the ingenuity, scale, and vision behind this transformation.

Our film celebrates more than engineering , it tells the story of collaboration and commitment to a sustainable future. By shining a cinematic light on this initiative, we helped share how Auckland’s most iconic stadium is leading the way in renewable energy and environmental leadership.
